Default Pathfinder Sniper Scope

Hi,
I've been experimenting with this for a while, but havent seem to be getting anywhere. I wanted to create a sniper scope that appeared on screen after being activated by a command button. Then you would use the scope to aim and fire, if would have to be weaker of course since you could pretty much hit anything. Unless you put a range on it. Is this possible? Or have all my efforts been in vain?

If you still need a clearer idea, click here.

Commandos 3?

That's the same as in Commandos 2 right? I'm pretty sure it is.

Well, I don't really know, but it would appear as a cursor (like an artillery strike).

But otherwise I have no idea...

Sorry

I don't see that being any bit realistic but sounds cool. Maybe instead give that ability to a mortar soldier. Or something to that affect.

Mishkin's right, it would have to be a cursor.

You will therefore need a button for it.

Maybe something like this in commandbutton

CommandButton Command_FireSniperWeapon
Command = FIRE_WEAPON
WeaponSlot = PRIMARY
Options = OK_FOR_MULTI_SELECT NEED_TARGET_POS
TextLabel = CONTROLBAR:FireSniper
ButtonImage = Sniper
ButtonBorderType = ACTION
DescriptLabel =
CONTROLBAR:TooltipFireSniper
RadiusCursorType = ????
End

...but I bet you tried that already...

yea i dont see anyway other then to make 2 modes for the sniper, walk mode and fire mode...just like a mortar man, but when he sets up the cursor turns to a sniper scope

What do u mean 2 modes?

Well yeah kind of...

How about when the sniper walks, his sniping range won't be as far as when he stops and uses the sniper scope (new cursor).

Kind of like with ranger and flashbangs...

I don't see any other way around it, since you can't hardcode.

By the way, is it illegal to break the hardcoded code down?
It probably is since EA reserved the right to it and so on...

But still, how would you do it, would you need some kind of a program? Duh
Not like I'm planning to do that, just interested...
