Default Little modelling help?

Got a few questions...

A. When I am making a model sometimes when I am looking down on the model or from one side to the other I can see through one side to tthe other. It's nice sometimes but when I want to see what it fully looks like I don't want to be able to see through on side to the other. Anyone know how I can change it to where its not transparent.

B. Bascially, in short, how do I view a model in a W3d? Sometimes I will open up a Gmax file in W3d and its blank there is nothing there. How can I view it in W3d?

C. OK, I think I have asked this twice and tried many times to get it to work and I can't :scared: . If I have three verticies in a row, how do I knock out the on in the middle and leave the other two connected. I have tried to weld many times. I click on one side and then click to the other side over the vertex i want gone and nothing happens. What am I not doing right? I have tried every option i can think of.

I guess that is all for now. I had one more but I can't remember it. Thank you to anyone who can help.

Maybe this helps you:

for your second question, download the Renegade Tools from http://www.thundermods.net/downloads...download&id=18 , they contain a w3d viewer which shows your models in the original w3d format. It is also useful if you want to view some of the models EA created. This is especially important if you want to animate something since you can learn from those models that are shipped with Generals.

for your third question, as fas as I know, there is a threshold for the vertices to be welded. That means if your vertices are to far apart from each other they can not be welded. But actually you should explain it more in detail to help me understand your problem. Another solution could be to completely redo this part of the model.

for your first question I am unsure whether this helps. You know that faces that you create always point in ONE direction? That means that if you create a face, it will only be visible from one point of view. If you want to see these faces from two sides you have to create another face or select "2side" in the w3d export options this causes the face to be visible from two sides.

Hope that helped, HEXman
