Gen Experience Menu editing
Hiya All,
Could someone please explain to me how you relate editing wnd files to the corresponding dds textures ?
If I'm trying to modify the generals experience menu to have more promotion sets (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 star) but I need the butoons to line up with the texture.
Please help. Thank you.

Yeah, I know HOW to do it, but the problem I'm having is getting the buttons lined up, in the correct spot, with the texture. I can't tell by looking at Deezires, how you actively work with the two and get the co-ords right.
Sorry I should've made that clear, but thanx anyway.

Since you're an aussie, i will tell you.
Look for a file called sacontrolbar512_001, in the textures.big folder. Once you've done that, you can open it up in photoshop and edit away.

OK thanx Tanka, but I know how to edit the texture, Iknow how to editthe wnd files also. I am just hoping that someone can tell me of an easy way to work between the two.
At the moment the only way I can see to do this, is to edit the texture to the set up I want and then edit the wnd file to get the new buttons in the correct positions, in a trial by error fashion.
There has to be another way !

Yeap, that's more or less how you do it. You need to just figure out how the coordinates match, and get that. If you want, you can plan everything out, and mathematically figure out all of the coordinates, but it's not easy.

Alright, cool. Thank you for the advice.
There's no easy way out, fair enough.

Indeed. Perhaps the only shortcut is to get Deezire's WND editor, although I've not had any success with it. I just use trial and error, and a bit of math to work things out. If you can add, subtract, and divide, you can edit the coordinates of a WND file.
