I think the USA Strategy center has the code your looking for it plays an animation triggered by an OCL and also has the rewind (play backwards for closeing ani) code in it.

If you mod it a bit so that it plays the animation when you click to build certian things from the command list.

But I haven't tested any of this so it's a might/might not therory but it may work.

Without looking at it in detail, my first instinct is to give you 'waf factory' the airfield logic and have a 'second door' anim triggered by the creation of a specific object with KinfaOf = PRODUCED_AT_HELIPAD

A second door triggered by the construction of a specific unit?

About the strat center idea... Could it be moded that like when you use "search and destroy" upgrade, when it is done switching over it creates a unit? but then the upgrade goes away right when its finished so it closes the door (or something like that?) And replace the search and destroy button with whatever unit you would want to to appear to build... But then the question is, could you make the unit appear to come from the building instead of just appearing near it..

Deezire's idea seems to be the best I've seen so far. The battleplans seem a bit more difficult to do because the are so different. Perhaps a status bit upgrade could be used?
