Default ZeroHour Load Screens

I posted this question just after ZeroHour came out but all I got in response was a bunch of confused answers none of which were what I was looking for so this time I drew a picture

Anyway I can't seem to find where you say what images goes in the circled area.

I don't want to know what image file I need to edit to change the picture on the load screen I need to know where I define what mapped image goes there.[/img]

I know it's an old topic, but here's the answer:

You have to add your general in the challenge mode, there is specifies which picture to show...

challenge mode? Exactly, in what *.ini file is that challenge mode located?

I always wanted to add my own general portrait, and by the way will I be putting the *.tga file in the art\textures folder? And how should I define that reference in the mapped images directory?

Wow, you really dug up an old topic. Second Wave ZH version has been released and has a UK logo now to anyone wondering. Anyways, the file is ChallengeMode.ini .

Oh now I see, thanks for the tip. But I only found this great generals forum last night by accident. I just learned modding last month and progress has been rapid. I guess being a programmer and a 3D animator helps a lot (lol!).

Now time to find myself some Saddam pics.

Oh by the way, do I need to define that image like I did with the other cameos, the actual tga file being in art\texture and a reference in mapped images folder? Then how would I exactly do that?

I finally figured it out!

But I'm still limited to adding more general cameos since the number of "persona" in ..challenge.ini is just twelve and according to the commented lines, the maximum number is defined in ...somefile.cpp. Does this mean I can't add more general cameos until I get to edit this .cpp file, now that'll be hard C++ reprogramming. What tool should I use to extract this .cpp file? I want to increase this variable to add more general personas.

You can't edit the source code source (ie cpp files) as for the amount of people you can add I think you can use the same numbers again.

I tried to use the same numbers again in challenge.ini. I used Generalpersona09 which is assigned to BossGeneral, however when I load BossGeneral, gen. leang's cameo went missing, although I saw the cameo of my new general (as expected). There are two extra Generalpersonas (10-11) that are not assigned to any general, I used that instead however, my I can't see my generals at the drop down menu when selecting a general in skirmish mode. (At least I know the cameos are working by loading a previously saved game).

But granting I solved this missing general problem, there are only 2 extra generalpersonas I can use (10-11) but I want to add more general cameos for my new generals, how can I ovecome this limitation? Don't tell me I have to hack the NUM_GENERAL value at challengegeneral.cpp ?(as was stated in the comments)
