Tomahawk Storm Tutorial
I was reading through old threads here within the last week since I just got Generals and Zero Hour. I saw on page 8 [or around there] a thread regarding the Tomahawk Storm. Someone by the name of The_Blind_One said he made a tutorial on how to implement it. I PMed him days ago asking if he could email it to me, but I have not received a response. Does anyone else have his tutorial or a different one that they could email to me? My email address is:
ragnarok2200@hotmail.com
Thanks for your help!
(I know it's cheap/noobish for me to ask for a tutorial on it, but I only know how to mod RA2. Even though I just got Generals, I've been reading about modding it for a while, and simply put, modding Generals is beyond my scope. I can add new units, but adding SWs is a whole other story for me.)

Yeah thats me, hehe but i never check my PM hehe and sometimes my MSN just drops people's emails asking about Tomahawk storm in the spam section
Anyway I gave it to a noob and he said my tutorial didn't work. He said that the button would grey out.
SO i reinstalled generals and only followed my mod and its instructions and yes it works perfectly with me! Yet he (the noob) whas and still is not able to use it :dead:
Anyway I have had other reports about this and thus I redid and rechecked my tutorial again and yes again it worked perfectly with me and I only followed my tutorial. :/
So its maybe a bit to hard for the true noooooobish people but he you can use it if you want just send me an email and ill try to stop it ending up in the spam section
hehe now where did i leave that turorial (after 5 computer breakdowns)

Thanks for replying. What's your email address so I can mail you?
To be honest, I know I should probably figrue it all out on my own, but I don't know enough about modding Generals to pull it off. Anyway, I don't really plan on modding Generals and Zero Hour beyond adding the Tomahawk Storm and a two new units I have in mind. That's mostly why I don't want to struggle to learn how to mod the game when the knowledge wouldn't be used.

I've got it. I'll put it up at GenDev in a bit here. Now, to find where I put it...
http://gendev.origin-network.net/paf...=category&id=9
You can find it there, along with a few other downloadable tutorials. These tutorials are by Vanguard, but cover the same thing.

The one on GenDev will help greatly. I had looked on that site before, but I kept looking in the tutorials section, not the modding resources section. Thanks.

No problem. Some tutorials are downloads, some are web pages. I'll probably link all of the downloads on the tutorial page sometime soon.

Last night, I tried adding the Tomahawk Storm using the tutorial on Gen Dev, but failed. Yes, I realize that it's pathetic considering how much easier can it is when all the code is given. But anyway, let me describe my problem anyway for suggestions.
The game does not crash, so there doesn't seem to be any serious error with the added code. Also, the icon is present in the Dozer's command bar. The problem is that the icon remains gray/unselectable even when prerequisites are met. Now, originally I did not follow the tutorial code word for word since I wanted to add it for the US SW General only, so I made the adjustments I thought were necessary to accomplish that.
(I added the buld command to the SW General's Dozer Command List, not the regular American Dozer Command List. I also made a minor name change on the build command, but I did make sure there were no discrepancies between names in the code. But that is obvious since if I had made that kind or error, I bet the game would have crashed all together.)
So, any suggestions as to what might be the cause would help. For me, reading most of the code is like trying to read another language. The only parts I can make complete sense out of are the CommandButton.ini, CommandSet.ini, and the Design Parameters section of the structure in FactionBuilding.ini. Everything else is jibberish to me. So, when I looked for errors, those are the three sections I've checked so far.

I know what you did check the prerequisites, and put SupW_StrategyCenter instead of StrategyCenter, that should fix the greyed button.
