Default Calling All Skinners and/or Animators

Hey folks, how's it going? I am coming to you on behalf of the NOVA Modding Team, for whom which I help out as the Public Relations guy....

As you may or may not know, NOVA recently released a side beta for their upcoming Generals only total conversion, WW3: Call to Arms. However, unlike many mods that request assistance, we are going strong and are fully staffed except for one position.

SKINNING

As do most mods, we also lack skinners. Without skinners, a mod is as good as dead. So, if you think you have what it takes and would like to help the team out, drop me a line at the contacts below. In addition to skinners, we also need some talented animators that want to show off their skills.

So, don't be shy, please message me.

E-mail 2 - AAK625@comcast.net
MSN - Aknu927917@aol.com
AIM - Glock625
ICQ - 123035379
Yahoo - AAK625

Thanks for your time everyone, I appreciate it.

Are there really no skinners or animators out there willing to help out?

Skinners usually have work really fast, or there sometimes the teams heads. Getting a good skinner is going to be hard, you should probably try studdying up yourself, or someone else on the team. Its your best bet.

I know that they're hard to find and I have tried skinning myself and some of our staff can skin. However, we need more skinners, fulltime skinners who do nothing but skin, because there's too much to be done.

Good luck. I don't know of any skinners right now who don't have 2 or 3 projects already. You are better off trying to learn, or finding a few new modelers to convert. Modelers are much more common, and can do a lot more.

If I had time...I'd gladly help, but I'm already committed to skinning for 3 mods, adding another would most likely drive me insane.

I know Smurf. There used to be many skinners out there, but it seems they have become water in a desert - scarce. Then again, many have moved onto other games.

I've been looking for 12 or 13 months now, still no luck.

I think that those skinners have joined mods.

if u want a good skinner u really want a good artist.Only problem with that is, what artist wants to work with generals limited scope and exposure? They can easily take their skills to paying projects, unlike modellers, for which there is no-where near as much demand(everywhere uses 2D art, but 3D is a much smaller universe)

A modeller only has to worry about shape and perspective, to make a good skin you need to understand colours textures lighting etc etc etc....all that boring crap u probably slept through in art class( I know I did lol)

Hmm, talented animators wanting to do all that work for free????? My mate just got paid $50,000 for some animation for a movie in between about 5 other jobs! Talented animators get snapped up pretty quick

My advice would be to scour your art classes and offer free drugs to the most desperate looking person rofl

Well, obviously this is a hard thing to do....which means I won't have any more luck than you guys when it comes to my mod. You said you guys knew how? That's enough to teach me. Since you guys are busy, spend some time teaching me instead of scouring looking for texturers. I'll do a few textures for you to make up for it, and we'll both have a little less to worry about.
