Default W3D Texture Problem

Just been prepping a model for inclusion in game and i've encountered this problem with a texture.

As you can see the central tower is darker than the rest of the body. The texure map is the same colour as well as the shaders. Any ideas on a fix?

Ah well i got it sorted by going back to the original max file. When i exported to 3ds texture names over 8 characters were cut. After reassigning the textures in gmax it came out with the shading. Probably my lack of knowledge with gmax. I'd still like to know a better way around this though.

Are you sure that all the model parts are the same colour when u delete the skin from ur model?
When not: open de renegade skin applyer, click get renegade material. When you see that the colours in the 4 boxes changes you've to set the 2 on the top to white and the 2 on the bottom to black.
I think that the part of the moddel in the middl got a darker color then the rest of the model.

Nah i think its was just me setting up the skin using standard instead of w3d. Standard uses a greyer shading. All part of the learning process.
