When you show pictures of a model and skin and associate with your mod and don't say anyone else did people assume you did it and that's basically saying that it's yours.
So he agreed to take it out in the next version? Well, thats good I guess. If I'm understanding this correctly he ripped the model from another mod that ripepd the model from Second Wave?

This pisses me off. :| When my mod was first starting out, all I had was a bit of RA2-era INI coding experiance. I couldn't model, skin, UVWrap, etc. So, to get started, I looked for help, or at least, models to use. However, I was very carefull to ask each author for permission to use it before I released any screenshots or even put it into my mod. This way I couldn't end up with problems down the road. Now, I'm needing these borrowed units less and less, but anyway, my point is, I made sure for each and EVERY model that I had permission and that the author was given proper credit. That's why this pisses me off... :tard: *end rant* lol

lol he admits that its virtually all taken from other mods, so it would make it a bit pointless on all the screenshots to say who did it.Thats what credits are for.
He said he took it from a chinese mod anyway, its probably been ripped dozens of times.Im sure you realise that china has quite a lot of people lol.As he said its non-profit, and hes not claiming it as his own, and making a fuss over it only means that one less mod will be released.

How is making a "fuss" over it stopping his mod from being released? If I understand that translation correctly he even said he would replace it in the next version. Key0p stop making this more complicated than it is. Do both teams a favor and go away. BTW your reasoning is that Second Wave models must be ripped a lot because China has a lot of people... I'm not even going to try to undertand that one.

lol, good one rad, my point is that he would more than likely have access to a very large community that is virtually separate to this one due to the language barrier. Its one thing to translate english to european languages, but its whole new kettle of fish when the characters are so radically different.
He stated that he got the model from a chinese mod and that he was ceasing development of this version.
I could understand being pissed off if the model was never made available for download.....

Ok, well, maybe I'm misunderstand the translation. I'll just wait to hear until he can have a live chat with Uni. And I understadn that its diffcult to translate between english and most oriental lagnuages (if not all) as they don't have as much in common with English as other latin and germanic based languages such as French, German ,etc.

The best reason to keep all your assets from leaking through the community is this.
Your mod gets picked up by the/a publisher and is made commerical. They aren't going to have a viable product if all the assets are littered around the community. If you cant name who to give credit then you cant use it. The more that can be locked down to a single mod the better. They really needed a way to lock mods up so that only people with the original files could actually work with the assets. This would allow poeple to keep what they wanted and give away what they wanted to whom they wanted.
