heh, lol. I suppose that's a possibility. Although the way in which it was presented as a LOFS team creation I doubt it. Although I'm not sure if the PR is done by their actual team. In any case I created this thread (not to say you guys stole the model, lmao, needleman), but in a way to figure out how to contact the LOFS team and to generate some kind of public interest so we may resolve the issue. And it seems to have worked. Uni is trying to contact them I think. The threads purpose has been served and you are only serving to drag this on longer and make an a ss out of yourself. I believe you are the one who came in here being hostile and saying something to the effect that you want models stolen or you don't care if they are. I'm not even the team leader of Second Wave. I'm just a coder and a model boner. The mod isn't even considered mine. It's considered Malc's creation so I don't know where your going with your argument. I just happen to frequent Deezire.net often. You seem to be taking the side that your just some cool guy renegade guy who doesn't cre about anything and just likes to chill. Just stop it. It's pretty ridculous. Nobody really cares that much about this. it's not like anyone over at Second Wave is loosing sleep because their pretending our models are theirs. It's just something that shouldn't happen and it's worth taking a few seconds to say something about it.

1, Please note that I have the full version of LOFS mod that the screenshots are taken from, and I am one of the so-called admins for the hosting of LOFS at Unleashed http://lofs.unleashed.ws/

2, As a person of pure Chinese blood, I speak Chinese far better than English.... if that's what you want anyway...

3, The problem with contacting the LOFS staff is not just language barriers, but the difficulty in catching them online.

5, I fully trust that Eradicator will not make a big matter out of nothing... I have known him for long enough anyway, I think... I even entrusted the future of http://lotr.unleashed.ws/ to him... hehe

6, Don't even think about flaming the LOFS staff... they would simply care less since they did not release the mod for fame, for money or for pretige, but for the enjoyment of fans and for themselves to play... When in Rome, do as Rome does... it might not be their custom to ask for permission before using them especially since they gain nothing from it... you couldn't just declare them thieves from the start... One vital evidence is that you can see that only X47 and I, two non-LOFS staff members, are caring to do advertising for them... I heard that they're now more interested in modding a soccer game called FIFA 2004 (http://www.eagames.com/)... and are finishing the English version of the mod just because of the Chinese fans... their leader didn't even contact me after they've finsihed the 1.95 Chinese version and I actually had to ask him to put work into a 2.00 English version...


All in all, I hope that you guys could understand how special the situation is... I have seen numerous mod-stealages... and I believe that this is not the case...

Thanks for your attention... and yea, I am trying to get to those guys as soon as possible... if I fail, I just won't release the mod, or ask someone (most likely X47) to make a new model to replace the Harrier or something like that...

Uni, I understand the situation much better now. Thanks, for clearing it up. I did not mean to assume that they had used the model simply to claim it as their work and gain some sort of fame from it. I was simply arguing theoretically with key0p who seems to insist that any stealing model/code isn't wrong even if it's for that reason. For me it's not a matter of legality. Simply a matter of morality. And BTW keyop, Killa simply doesn't have the time to go tracking down every team that steals one of his models so he's leaving it up to Malc. He has stated several times on the cncmatrix forums that he did not give permission to the LOFS team to use it and that he's leaving it up to Malc to track them down and decide whatever he wants on how the model is used. And as for not helping people... wtf.. he obviously haven't even been here that long to even comment on that. I'm sure I've helped plenty more people that you have so don't even try that low blow. I have ~560 posts and its not like I announce a model theft every day Hell, I'm part of GenDev, a group dedicated to writing tools and tutorials for the Generals community. What did you do? Act like an ass in topics that don't relate to you?

One thing that frustrated me immensly when I first arrived here was the lack of flow of information and secrecy from people working on mods.It made my learning that much harder.Especially as this is a "modding" forum.Thats why I care, becasue Id rather a free-flow of ideas and creations in a free mod communtiy.I persevered, but I think many would just quit, and those people might have had some really good ideas to share.I think if people didnt mind thier stuff being re-used in this manner then we would see a lot more mods, and even the people who made it originally would benifit from the fresh ideas implemented.
