Default Model Animations

I made a model in Milkshape 3d, animated it in MS3d and then exported it in *.smd format. I then imported it into Gmax, and then animation was playing normaly. Then i exported it using renegade tools, and it exported normaly. I made two versions:
1. Exported just the skeleton, then the model, and the pure animation
2. Exported the skeleton, and then the animated model.

I used the w3d viewer, which comes with the renegade tools, to check the model. I open all three/two files and the bones were rotating, but the model was still.

What could be the problem here?

Okay, I think you need the following:

A skeleton of your model that is exported via renegade tools to a .w3d file. Then you need the model itself and the animation.

Now you have to bind the model to the skeleton and thus the bones. I think you do this with a "renegade material" and the "bind to spacewarp modifier". Read the tutorials that came with the renegade tutorials or check the Infantry tutorial at http://gendev.origin-network.net.

Then when everything is done use the w3d viewer and select your model, the pure animation and the skeleton. Now the anim should work.

Thanks for the fast reply, and i did everything said, but now the anim is screwed up, only the center of the blades are spining(i am making a heli), and it's still not showing up in the w3d viewer.

Link the other blades to the center, then they should spin with the center

Well if you only want to animate a helicopter you don't need a skeleton. Just animate your unit and then export it via RenX and select "hierarchically animated model".

Yeah and link the blades to the center.

Look:

1. Create your helicopter in your favorite 3d program.

2. Import it into RenX

3. Select the parts of the model you want to animate and do so.

3.1 Animation is done by clicking the "Animate" button on the right and then selecting the keyframe you want to make your final frame. At that position turn your blades say 360 degrees.

4. Export the model as I described above.

Either i am doing something wrong, or the viewer has a problem. I still cannot see my animation in the viewer.
