Default land mine

i was just wondering if anyoen has thought of this yet. I made it so the red guard can lay down mines, but they are not strong enough for personel, I also made it so the SFOD-D (new unit of mine) can lay down claymores (just another chinese mine). well what do u think?

I think that mines are a good idea.
But I don't think that you are the first
with this idea.

Mines certainly add strategy to the game, though I'm sure many mods already have that logic, the emperor mod included

well i can pretty much gaurentee that i was not the first to think about this, as for the minelayer, i do not do models, my friend does, so, ill have tot alk to him about the minelayer, then we just need a skin. However, I did not really liek the minelayer in ra2, i never used it, i mean i think maybe if it did a little /lot more damage. But i wanted the mies to be a more realistic approach, you know where 1 mine explodes and can nearly take out half a platoon.

i created a minelayers, codewise, never decided to implement it because it would make the game far too one sided.

Imagine a side with minelayers, all that that side would need to do would be to deploy minefields all over their base and theyre pretty much impervious to ground assault.

So i scrapped the idea. The thing with mines is, if they are layed one by one then they would require far too much micro management, and wouldnt be powerful, but if they are made useful then they become too powerful and make the game one sided

well its not too bad, because look at teh chinese mines they get around the buildings, those rape ground units, well infantry anyway.

But what's the problem with the one-mine logic?

I mean, there are many chokepoints around maps, laying out a single mine at a location adds security, if you use the demotrap logic. That would make the mine detonate when an enemy comes CLOSE, and not only when it is exactly OVER the mine.
