Default Muzzleflash transparency help please!

Can anyone shed some light on how to make models muzzle flash appear properly in-game?

Ive followed proclones and masterminds tutorials, but neither has been completely successful, especially with col.burton and his yellowing when he is detected while firing.

Ok, so who has some good advice for me on this one please? I dont want to have to disable the muzzle flash object and just use flares.

use the ADDITIVE shader when dealing with muzzleflahes it makes the black part of the texture transparent.
make sure the polygons are geometri and bones for the flash and that they are 2-sided marked in gmax.

I've been having the same problems. If I use the muzzle flash w/alphas the color changes. If I don't the black doesn't disappear. And yes I used add on the shader. Plus on inf the flash is distended unless I attach it to a Ren Skin in which case the game doesn't make it disappear when not firing.[/img]

Here's what I mean:

On the left are my models, top w/alphas $ bottom w/o

On the right are unmodified gen models
