Gaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! bloody infernal game!!
I don't suppose someone could write some example code for this thing?
Basically, I want it to be a faster, stronger version of the Comanche (with the same upgrades)
the name of the model is AVOrca.W3D (I renamed it from AVComanche so it wouldn't replace the Comanche itself - the W3D file is also in it's own BIG file in the generals directory when I use it)
If someone could just write the code and get this thing to work I would be extremely greatful...

You can't simply rename a W3D file. You must re-export it if you have the gmax file. If you don't then you'll have to import it and fix the things your importer doesn't do (ex. re-apply skin, re-bone) and then re-export it with your new name.

Okay, Vengeance, could you look at the code I have and see if there's any problems with it?
Eradicator, if I send you the Orca model could you rename/reskin/rebone it for me?

It's not a hard job. I suggest you learn to do it yourself so you can do it in the future and make your owns mods. It's best to learn how to import and export w3ds even if you jsut want to be a coder. If you abosolutely refuse to try and learn ti for whatever reason send it to me and I'll do it, but I can't guarantee a time frame as I work on several mods.

WAIT, forget about importing it to gmax. Go to google and search for a hex editor. Then, open the w3d file with the hex editor and change the COMANCHE to ORCA. Ive done this so many times to get units in the game and it is so much easier than brining it into gmax and doing all that bullshit. If you need more help post it here, or go on aim or yahoo and message jmb8785. Ill look at your code to see if everythign is working order.

I tried to make an orca and it didn't work: Game crashed on startup, so I just copied the comanche's code and inputed the model, and it worked. I had redo everything after some kind of problem and the corca doesn't work now. BTW I don't have ZH.

jmb8785, i'm trying to make a brand new unit using the Orca model (I guess I'll have to rename it using the hex editor method you suggested)
I'm using the same code as the comanche (obviously changing the model though)

But the annoying thing is today I also tried to add the hover crusader as a new unit as well and I put all the files in the correct folders (i.e created an Art\W3D folder for the orca & crusader W3D files to go in) and an INI folder for the FactionUnit INI etc files to go in) but it still doesn't allow me to build the new units & I followed the tutorials to perfection (I guess I'll have to post the code for the units up for someone to look at tomorrow) it's 2:40am now so I can't be arsed...
I guess it's just my dumb luck, lol

ok some quick questions:
1. do u get an error, or can u play
2. if u can play do u see the button for the unit, and just nto the unit
3. if you get an error, what does it tell u is all fucked up?
4. if you can't answer any of this post the code.
