Default EMP and Power Plants

Does anybody know exactly why power plants are immune to emp? I thought maybe they had the EMP_HARDENED, but they don't (unless I'm COMPLETELY blind).

This is somewhat retarded as many times I want to send my EMP Pulse to shut down my enemies power....but it doesn't affect power plants.

you mean the china emp bomb? im pretty sure ive used that to knock powerplants offline....

but maybe im just making stuff up.

i have seen the emp knock out power in regular generals, but not in zh. *i have not played against china yet* umm. ill take a look, is this in regular generals or zh

Sorry, this is for Zero Hour. In regular Generals the EMP Bomb will disable Power Plants, but in ZH no EMP attack (like the EMP Patriots) will disable them.

I have a similar problem when using saboteurs against powerplants, I checked the ini code so Im sure saboteurs can knock out ("low-bat" is popular term we use in here in the philippines) powerplants. However the powerplant doesn't seem to be affected... or so it seems until I tried it against my brother using laser general (we know laser requires a lot of power). The result was although the powerplant did not "blackouted" my brother's entire laser army went "low-bat". Maybe the FX just don't update properly but the actual low-power behavior happens.

Yea, I had a similar experience.

I gave the SuperWeapon General's Pathfinder EMP Grenades, and they just wouldn't make the power plant go off-line (FX that is). Against all the other structures it worked fine.

At first I though my code was a little messed up, but now I see I was wrong.
By the way, same goes for the Chinese power plants, right?

That's good I think, that you can't use EMP to knock out power.

1) It's kinda cool, maybe the Power Plants have some kind of Anti-EMP things installed in them.

2) Better for balance issues.

Going slightly off topic here, but on my copy of ZH when i call in the EMP bomb, the plane that drops it is the B-52 (WTF?! :tard: )
Either that or it might be one of the other chinese abilities that uses a plane, but it's definintly a B-52 that drops the payload - anyone else seen this? it's actually a little annoying

Hmmm, weird. No I've never seen that. Have you had any mods installed/modded anything yourself? That has to do with the OCL ini...check it out. The transport line under superweapon emppulse should read transport = chinajetcargoplane.
