You edit it in the ObjectCreationList. I experimented many times with getting a raptor to do a strafing run with a vulcan (about the same as a dive run, they both strafe). It may not be impossible but I failed. Using the OCL of the A10, if you simply add a few lines before the decal of the strike like the airf_ carpetbomb, it will fly in, shoot missiles and drop bombs.

You can put this in after the strafeweaponFX in the a10 strike, something close to it, and it will drop bombs as well. A start.
My idea for an ingame strafing run was to create a fake turret and under the aiupdates force the entire unit to move using the turret updates. Locomotor setting need to have pitchdamping settings change and so forth.
It never worked but I'm not very good with gmax, I might have missed something. Anyways, some ideas. Look at the spectre gunship and how it turns its horizontal pitch as well. This might give you some ideas for a vertical pitch.
