No EA logo, intro. and shellmap for Zero Hour...
Hey guys, how can I disable the EA logo, intro. and shellmap for Zero Hour? I tried -quickstart but it doesn't work. I tried -noshellmap -nologo and I got the disabled shellmap of Generals instead of Zero Hour and the EA logo still starts up with the intro.. How can I disable this three for Zero Hour guys? It's just that I'm stuck with a slow computer as of now.
Any help to do so will be appreciated. Thanks!

EA decided that -quickstart wasn't helping them didn't coincide with their plans to zombify us. So they took it out of Zero Hour in order to spam us with more annoying ads I guess. Then people complained and they put it back in the 1.01 patch, but they left out the part where it doesn't show the EA logo... sigh. It's better than nothing I suppose.

This is kinda related to this topic.
I want to plug my own picture instead of the shellmap in the main menu.
How would I do that?
And what size does the .tga picture have to be?
Also for the music, I tried replacing the shell music in music.INI, but for some reason it's still there.
Help would be greately appreciated.

picture instead of the shellmap? first off use -quickstart to not show the shell map (or disable the shell map entirely)...look around the textures.big, there is the tga there (dont' know the exact name off hand...but it looks just like a screenshot of the original generals shellmap)
afiak the music is mostly(if not completely) done via map triggers/scripts/whatever it is...

If your going to be modding for Generals a lot I suggest extracting all of the files from INI.big, Texture.big and W3D.big (and ZH version if you have) and then never alter them, but use them as recoures. In Texture.big you'll find the file you want. Its a TGA not a DDS so once you extract everything sort by File Type when looking for it. Then DL a program than can open TGA files really quickly (not PSP or PS unless you have a good really comp) like Irfanview. Then just open all the TGA files that don't start with zhcia_ as those are infantry skins. You'll find it rather quickly. But remember this image will only show if the user has disabled the shellmap so I suggest making a new shellmap for your mod.

I dont recommend -quickstart - its buggy as it disables reading of most of the WindowTransitions.INI file. Use -noshellmap instead. An easier way to permanently disable the intro movies in a mod is to change the respective filenames in Video.INI.

So, what you're saying is I can't put up my own pic unless I add -noshellmap in the target field?
Hmm.....
Ok, then thanks, yeah, by the way music is controlled through scripts.

Yes, you won't see it there unless you use -noshellmap.

Another way to disable the EA logo and intro other than messing in the INI files is to rename the EA_LOGO.bik EA_LOGO640.bik sizzle_preview.bik and sizzle_preview640.bik in your \(Generals Directory)\data\english\movies\ folder
