Pacific Rim - Recruiting
Hi, you guys may remember me being the guy that was posting a wanted message for people to join cnc:vietnam, however my plans were crushed by the vietnam project not being dead - ive checked it out and it looks damn good guys, keep it up!
Anyway my concept is based on the activities of the Japanese and Americans in the pacific from 1941-1945. It will be called Pacific Rim and be a complete overhaul of the game both in the game mechanics and models. The first release will see only two sides: USA and Japan.
Im not competition for Blitzkreig or Tanka who I belive is now working on a mass WW2 game called the finest hour. Im just a modder who wants to make a cool mod.
The land battles wil llead towrds infantry power - infantry will be alot better and tanks will be beefed up, tanks will be feared, but at the same time, costly and unsuited to the terrain. Air power will play a key role and will include flying fortresses and kamakazi strikes. As it is the pacific, ships will be included - starting with landing craft and patrol boats in the first version. Then to destroyers and submarines, then seeing as aircraft carriers were small in the 40's they stand a slim chance of being included.
At a later date a solo-player may be included which will recreate famous battles such as Iwo Jima, Midway, Guadalcanal, etc.
THe concept is actually simple - two teams only, which leads to more time spent on modelling and skinning, game mechanics, and balance issues. However I cannot complete this project alone, this is where you come into it.
I need:
Another INI coder
Modeller(s)
Skinner(s)
Mapper(s) - seeing as we are going to need some massive island chain maps
Me? I already have a project under my belt called GeneralsTwo which introduced new units and beta units - Chemical Bunkers, Flamethrowers, HunterLords, Laser Burton, Detention Camps, and Hover Tanks.
If you are intrested then please contact me by PM or post below. I would like to see some sample work before you come onboard.
Thanks

Nice post smurf, generally fits in with other posts that you've made about other peoples mods. Blitz 2 is good, but it isnt anything to sell your soul to or your manners

for those maps i recomend using the CKMP DEM tool, its outstanding little tool for using DEM files to create the terrain, its tricky sometimes and is also hard to find original DEM files, most mappind agency or companies use newer proprietary file types, but if you can find DEM maps of the geographies you want ill try to atleast create terrain for ya, and then let someone who is better with mapping to detail it.
