Default Paint shop pro 8 and DDS conversion

Can someone tell me what settings to use in the box that comes up when converting a tga file in paint shop pro 8 to a DDS file? I used the default settings but don't know if they were correct since I got an error on anything larger than 256x256. Also in Gmax, where is the renegade material navigator. I had to use the Gmax material navigator but maybe it doesn't matter.

The default settings will produce a blurry and large dds file. Use these settings:

Wow thanks! I couldn't have asked for a better reply than that. Oh just one other thing. How do I save? The save button is always greyed out.

i think the file size X and Y length have to be denominators of 2 or 4 to save properly..

Yes, I recomend 512x512 for a detailed vehicle skin.

You can use an oblong rather than square skin, ie: 128x256

Yeah I tried 256x256 and 512x512 but the save button is still greyed out. I couldn't find the ddscodec.zip specified in the skinning tutorial but I found one called dds by nvidia. Anyone have the ddscodec.zip?

I changed the pixal\inch to pixel\centimeters and was able to save. So apparently it was a units problem.
