Default Switching Locomotors?

OK i'm making a unit that has two different weapons and you can switch ebtween these weapons in the untis command set using two buttons. This i have got working perfectly, but the other thig i need to do is have the unti use a different locomotor when its using its secondary weapon. so basically by default the unit will use a normal tank locomotor and its primary weapon, but when you use the command button of the untit o make it use its secondary weapon it also changes the units locomotr, and obviously when u use the button to switch back to the primary weapon the locomotr switches back to the original one. can this be done?

There is a way, but it's slightly more complicated.

I assume you used the Ranger/Scud Launcher method for switching weapons. Well forget that. Just make an upgrade (with a cost and build time of 0), and when you click the weapon switch button, you upgrade the unit. And the upgrade affects both the weapon set (WeaponSetUpgrade) and locomotor (LocomotorSetUpgrade). But, something you also need to do, is upgrade the CommandSet (CommandSetUpgrade). The CommandSet upgrade also lets you remove an upgrade. So what you do, is have one button upgrade the unit, and also update the CommandSet (so one button is replaced with the other). Then the other button removes the upgrade, so the unit reverts back to its original state, and it also switches the CommandSet back to the original one.

Ahh i kind of get what you mean. though i dont know how to do upgrades really, could you post an exmaple of how you mean mainly to do with the command set upgrade as im not sure how to do that.

Well i've had a look at it some more and have got the unit to transform using an upgrade, but i cant get it to revert back to how ti originally is. i tried copying the original weapon an locomotor as a second upgrade but the game wouldn't have it. but then i dont know what else to change as both my upgrades use WeaponSetUpgrade and both weapon sets on the unit have PLAYER_UPGRADE on them so i dont know if you have to have extra code in there to specify which to use or what.

and maybe animated sweep wings, like for an F-14 and that Tu160 maybe?

Animated wing sweep backs are very easy to code. Just use the jet exhuast or other one (forget name at moment) condition states. You can see a British Tornado with a wing sweep back animation in Second Wave (see sig). You can use the code as an example. BTW there's also a British Harrier with working VTOL in it.

There's a version of the mod with the harrier for both. The newest version available for DL is the ZH one.
