Speaking of help, helping others is THE only way to really become a good Modder, yes there are alot of Tuts but there all the most obvious things people would want to change in the game, IE infantry skinning adding new units and factions or generals but no tuts on how to do the small the eycatching trick.
KeyOp has answered some questions of mine already and Eradicator is helping right now.
I think most people mod simply cause they can. it make you stand out from all the other gamers who just play.
Couter-Strike and Quake were even worse for a time when a came to modding.

Wise words, I shall not judge the percentage of truth in mongoose's words, but we should not pour petrol into the flames.
About the tutorials: I had planned making a few ones myself in a bit of time, especially ones about the AI, too few people know what to do with the AI so I think there must be a way to increase that number.
Maybe people get more courage now when they see that non-game developers can also do brilliant mods.
There might even be more projects going on. The members of huge projects might not have the time to announce anything, they just post a thread saying "Yeh I have a new mod with these features".

It was more a representation of the lack of knowledge.
And dont patronise me, I searched this forum thoroughly before asking questions.

And don't respond to anything like your hit in the head with a chainsaw.

Surpringly smurf, people do actually make mods for enjoyment; not for glory in magazines. People also make mods to learn how modding works and not to become competition for other mods.
Smurf, mabye its time you started putting something back into the community. I see great modders like Deezire, Sleipnir, Chronomaw, and Vanguard (to name a few) who not only construct mods; but write tutorials and help people who are making theirs.
Heck, im making a ww2 pacific mod and the most help ive got so far is from another ww2 mod: the finest hour. They dont care about competition - thx Mongoose, Stino, Tanka, and Freefall(thin ive forgotten someone - srry)

Hey, releasing a mod to the public isn't considered doing something for the community anymore?

I think they mean TUTORIALS and GUIDES
Great modders get others started and release codes, models , skins or anything they have worked on.
