Default Well

These new mods are getting particularly addictive. And many show quite a bit of promise. But none are addictive as ProGen.

Sorry kained but the fact remains more info is shared on this forum now than before. Its not shrinking, even if the most experienced people leave. It doesnt take anywhere near as long to make a mod once you know explicitly how to get stuff into the game.

If people want to keep what they have and walk away, good riddance.

And this is exactely where you and other members of the community are going wrong. It takes two sides to pick a fight, neither side is totally wrong in their position but it takes people to be a bit more understanding for any positive progress to be made.

You got some kind of inside information going in there?

I guess that now with the Sims 2 it will be the same old story...
No inside info, just reading between the lines a bit. As we almost know for certain, Petroglyph is working on the next cnc game (probably cnc3 aka tiberian twilight). The good thing for us, is that they arn't directly under EA's control...which gives them a bit more freedom in regards to community support and such (ie look at the makers of bf1942). Also, they are made up of ex-westwood people, people who were part of the team that was very community supportive (or at least put on a good show of pretending to be supportive).

Harvards team on the other hand, will be bouncing from project to project for years to come...only focusing on getting the current project done and moving onto the next. In this system, there is no room or reason to support mods to any great extent.

What could possiblely be a better license for ex-westwood staff than a C&C license? hmm? [/b]

Hi, I'm new here and coincidentally I have a mod of sorts almost done.
I would like to thank anyone who posts useful information. IMO most of this thread could make a good storyline for the lifetime tv network.

I am aware there are "clans" who play the game but wasn't aware that modders would be the type of people who are "clannish" about their nonpaying modding hobby.
