I posted this in another thread but no one bothered answering it. i thought it might get a little more notice this way...
or doesn't anyone know?

just wondering how the number of frames in the animation effects the games performance. does an animation with only 100 frames make the game run faster than an animation with 200 frames?
and if so is there a limit to the amount of frames in an animation? i only say this because one of my buildings has 1300 frames of animation.
AFAIK the game renders 30 frames per second at the default setting, but it can be cranked up to 60, or even (I think) infinite, where it will render as fast as possible.
i didn't actually mean frames per second... i just meant frames.
can you have a model that has like 10,000 frames for it's animation? is there a limit?
I haven't tried yet but I see no obvious reason why there should be a limitation, except for the available amount of RAM.
however, there might be issues with multiplayer network connections also...needs to be tested
