Default How can you make the SAM turret popup and popdown

How can you make the SAM turret popup and popdown when he fires a missile and when thats done that he popdown? How do you do this?

Make 3 models of the Sam, 1 static doors closed underground model, 1 animating model with the samsite doors openning and the turret raising up, then the static model of it above ground. The rest is ini code, condition states and animation

You only need two models, a Static Firing, and an animated one. cos when it goes back down you play the animation in reverse. For the Idle state model, all you need to do it tell the animation not to play untill it "pops-up."

Plus there is a WONDERFUL thread in this site, which gives you the basic code. Try the Search Button.

I use the static model with the doors because its 22 polys just sitting there. Why have the full 700 polys if they can't be seen anyway

The animation is the easy part, but there's a harder trick to solve as well: How do you make it 3 times as strong when it goes underground?

Who cares if it's stronger underground? Keep it easy and let go of realism on that part.

WOh, Thats alot of Polys....Ours is only 200, and still a brillent looking model. So theres not a great need for us to reduce polys by having a 22poly Static model. But hey watever work for you. and both idea's work! So its all good

Yeah 700 polys for a defense structure is quite a bit. considering lots will probably be made all over the base. if somone flies over, most crappy computers will choke wont they?

post us a pic of it. there must be some way to cut polys on it.
btw what mod is it for?
