Default Laser Gen's raptors.

Hey everyone.

I am trying to get Laser Gens Raptors and Comanches to fire Laser beams instead of missiles. So far what I have KIND OF works, but not quite. I cant target vehicles or structures, just infantry and force firing on the ground.

Here is the code I am using for the LazerRaptorWeapon

AGM, I thought you only hang around cncreplays and the official generals website... Looks like I was wrong! Now, to the problem. Your damagetype is wrong. If you look into armor.ini you'll see that the LASER damagetype does 0% damage to structures and tanks. Try changing it to ARMOR_PIERCING and it will be effective vs. buildings, defense structures and tanks but ineffective vs. tanks. Set it to EXPLOSION and it will be effective vs. virtually everything. Setting it to JET_MISSILES will make it effective vs. everything except anti-air units and base defences (which is probably what you want). To see what I mean, look into armor.ini.

Thanks m8. JET_MISSILES will work just fine.
Im currently involved in the cncreplays patch 1.03 project and we are trying to give Laser gen some EA planned personality that never made it to the final version.

EDIT: Yup, works perfectly, just gotta tweak some ranges and it will be great.

The thing that drove me nuts for a while before I got it right was the firing pitch line in the weapon for my laser comanche. At first, it would shoot fine against air units, or ground units further away - but not close-in ground units. Then I finally figured out what the pitch line did, and threw it away :lol: - works fine now (green beam looks great too) ! Are you just making laser raptors, or laser versions of all the planes (I think there are voices for a laser stealth fighter in the game somewhere, perhaps Dee would know) ?

Im just making laser Raptors/comanches for now. The problem with laser stealth fighters is you lose access to bunker busters.

Thats not true. Make a invisible rocket with no Damage as a second weapon. Now u have the Bunker Buster Laser
