Default SQUAD INFANTRY

Well I am looking for some feedback on something I've implemented. What I've done is create a 1st level science that will allow the russians to build "squad" based infantry. A normal russian soldier is equivelant to a USA Ranger (for now) but cost $250 instead of $225. This reflects thier lack of resources (Russia is poor). But russians have the option of building a squad (4) for $800, reducing unit cost to $200. Same with missle guys. Anyone think this is too powerful? Build time is only 12 secs.

I will change the cameos later when I have a unique one to use for the russians.

would it be possible for your squad to be different infantry types?
You know, have a tatical squad kind of thing, 4 rifle guys, one rocket and one flamethrower for example and they all stick together like a mob.

Just a random idea

I don't see why not, just add more than one object to the command contruct button. I wouldn't want them to stick together though cause than you might as well just make one unit that spawns the others or use mob nexus logic. Than you couldn't scatter them though.

I like the first idea. The second one has been done.

One suggestion though, if you have it as separate choices then I say increase the build time, it's nearly half the speed of normal infantry. It could bring up balancing issues.

Well in the context of Russia. They will always pay more for thier units. Though after upgrades they would have an edge over the USA. I thought maybe to increase buildtime to 15 secs. To build them individually would take 20 secs. 12 secs might be too short. Seeing as Russia will have to buy many upgrades to get thier stuff better than the USA I thought maybe I would give them the luxury of at least cheaper infantry.

Also remember that you have to spend a Generals Promotion point to get it. The other 1st level choice will be a T95 advanced russian armor. With object upgrades that allow it have a machine gun, anti-tank, or anti-air build on object upgrade. Exclusive to each other.

i say make the single infantry about 8 seconds to build at $250 and make the "squad" of 4 infantry take like 50 seconds to build at $800. This way the "squad" works out cheaper but you have to wait longer for it. sacrifice time for cost. i think this would make it more balanced.

Squad of 4 costs $800 and takes 25 seconds to build.

This means that it works out cheaper, but assuming that normal ones take 5 seconds to build, the squad takes 5 seconds longer.

Just a thought

25 secs is a long time... rememebr game secs not real secs. rangers build in 5 sec. Also russia will be penelized across the board on cost so they really need some thing like this to help them. I took 12 soldiers up against 1 scorpion. They got dusted quick.
