Default Russian Steroids? Oh my...



Sure...I added a "steroid" upgrade for the russians. It increases thier max health by 25% of all infantry type units. It cost $2500. But with that and the squad upgrade, it should make for some interesting infantry attacks. 5 infantry were able to shutdown a stinger site by killing the rocketmen. No casualties, two badly injured.

I will move the upgrade from the barrakcs to the russian lab when I am ready to code it. It will generate income like the GLA black market but will also enable upgrades like steroids, polymer armor, IR goggles (detects stealth with infantry as an OBJECT upgrade) among other things.

Any feedback?

I don't know about steroids. It sounds like it'd have some side effects.

If you made it have something like increased damage via armor (tunnel vision, improper danger sense, etc.) or made it like a temporary benefit like Starcraft's Stimpacks it would fit better.

If not I'd suggest a different title like "Enhanced training/conditioning" or "Morale boost"

I was gonna call it Performance Inhancement Upgrade or something. Was just keeping it real here. How would ya set up an upgrade with a timer? Than how would ya be able to REbuy it? Sounds like a good suggestion though? Like a SW? Maybe it could be a SW. When your base is attacked click it and look out on the homefront. Sounds too hard to code.

I think it's possible. Maybe find some way to make Frenzy global. Maybe I'm talking crazy. It's late here. :sleep: I'll see if I find something out tomorrow (or if I am crazy).

One way to make a temporary "upgrade" would be a variation of the popular "make a drone" solution. Make a drone with a limited life & upon death it spawns some sorta benefit.

I doubt if you'd actually notice 25% more armor on infantry =/

I added the change locomotor upgrade to change from BasicHumanLocomotor to BasicHumanLocomotorPlus25

The missle guy also changed but the missleguys locomotor keeps them in mid but now they will run to the front like the infantry. Can't stop that but it's finished now.

What do you mean you can't stop it? Just make a new locomotor with MOVES_MIDDLE instead of MOVES_FRONT. A lazy modder is no modder at all!

I was under the assumtion locomotors were hard coded and could not be changed, if they are not than...sky is the limit. I will go back now and make new locomotors!!!
