Default Shadow Mess-up - Please Help!

Here's a pic of our T-47 Airspeeder...

This shadow problem has to be something with the model. Any ideas how to fix it?

look for a topic with "evil shadow bleed" in the title, that should have all you need.

LMAO! You have the shadow curse too? Our modeller fixed a helicopter with it.

BTW, here's something...

Shadows bleeding are ALWAYS due to modelling errors:

-coplanar faces : causes surface shimmering and in some occasions shadow leaks

- Internal vertical faces: when using the extrusion sub-modelling technique you always have the original face left. If you don't delete it, you're 100*% sure to get bleeding.

- flipped faces

- non closed surfaces at the top of the model: the shadow projection goes top bottom. If for some reason there is no top face, but only a bottom one, you're probably going to have shadow problems.

It can take some time to find the offending polygons or gaps, but it is always possible to solve the problem...

I fixed my shadow problems by simply welding all the vertecies in the effected area.

yeah, thats the first thing you should try.
after that, check if there are any open edges (while sub-selecing edge)
and the other thread somebody said the "caphole" modifier would often help.
