Default W3D import/export 3dsmax6

I've searched everywhere, but I can't find a decent plugin/script for max6 to import/export *.w3d.

The script I've found needs another script called 'RenX-MDE.ms'

I've downloaded the RenegadeTools, but that didn't solve the problem.

Anybody knows where to find a plugin/script for max6?

Thanx...

there is a way to import w3d objects into 3dsmax 6 but there is no way to export it. You can use the animation script made by coolfile that load w3d objects.

In order for renx to work, you will have to get gmax. Renx is a game pack for the free modeling program.

Note: Don't quote me on that.

Yeah I found out the annoying way
Also You are going to have to find a converter to change the max6 files into Gmax files since I tried changing the file name (.gmax to .max) and it wont work. Dont ask me if you caan exoport it into from max6 as say a .3ds file and import that into Gmax since I still have not got roung to downloading Gmax mainly cos I have a 56k which is slower than it says and sometimes downloads at 1kb per sec

you can save as 3ds format right? then import it in renx? but if it keeps uv, skinns and etc .. I don't know

...why doesn't EA create an plugin for 3DS for generals? can't be that difficult

Your assuming one does not exist.

They have not release THIS item to the public.

And yes, it keeps its mapping when exported to .3ds, then you can import to RenX (you may have to re-apply the texture) then export it to w3d once again. It really isn't that much of a hassle.
