Not the foggiest. You should have used STR files instead - being text orientated they're much easier to deal with. That and you should have made a backup !

is there a way to open a .csf in text format so that I can salvage mt strings as some are very long and I cant remember what the said...and STR? how do I do my strings in that?

The only time I had a problem with the string file is when I accidentally created an empty block while using the xcc string editor. I just loaded it up with one of the older string editors and deleted the empty block and it was fine...
