Default Scrollable WND Types and Command Sets

I've been looking at Deezire's window editor and noticed that amongst the new windows it can create it includes scroll bars.

I've searched the existing windows and menus included in generals and I couldn't find an instance of one.

1) Where did this list of window types come from ?

2) If scrollable windows are possible, is it possible to create a scrollable commandset window ?

At present in CTA we have a dozer that has buttons to switch between command sets. This works fine.

We are currently re-doing the control bars, switching them from there present horizontal position along the bottom to the RA2 style vertical position. Less space for the control bar but more viewable playing area. So scrollable windows would be a big bonus.

I've done some simple test code for the vertical control bars and they work just fine.

I'm going away for a week on business from today, but if anyone is interested in learning more about this or has information on the scrolling window types plz contact AAK625 over at DS or post something in our forums.

Thank you,

[Edit] Just read that the limit on command set buttons is hard coded to 12 and 14 for ZH....so we won't be able to move away from the buttons for switching command sets, however it would still be cool to be able to show 6 or 8 in a scrollable window, as this would mean we could fit more in.

Also, is it possible to make the power bar run vertical ?

I would like to know this too. Would be cool to have a scrollable Commandset that way we could have double the amount or even triple if needed.

Scrollable commandsets would be nice, but not possible. The game is hard-coded to only read the first 12/14 and discard (or even crash with) the others.

Would it be possible for you to post the code for the switching commandsets?

Switching commandsets is a pain in the neck, it can be done in a few ways....the way we do it in CTA is by creating an upgrade and switching the commandset on upgrade, then killing of the upgrade and switching back with another upgrade.

Its not perfect,but works.

Anyone got any ideas on the power bar ?

Game is NOT hardcoded to only read 12 or 14 buttons, but infact 18.

Yes, you can successfully add an extra 4 buttons, just make sure that the new buttons in the wnd file are within the exact same windows as the current 12/14 and that they have the same wnd name except that their numbers at the end are 15-18.

also, within the Deafult ini folder, that you have entered buttons 13-18 in the ButtonSets.ini.

It is preferable to add the extra buttons in by opening up the controlset.wnd with notepad and copying the the current buttons and just altering their name and position.

If you have a graphic file of the controlset, such as in bmp format you can open it up in MS Paint and get the co-ordinates from there (position of the cursor on the picture is recorded bottom right).
