Default Announcing Command & Conquer: Crimson Dawn

This is a new game in development, by some talanted Generals modders. It is not a mod for Generals, rather, it uses the SAGE engine to create it's own world. When it is finished, nothing special will need to be installed to play.

The game focuses on continuing the story of the original Command & Conquer series of games (Tiberian Storyline).

Vist Command & Conquer: Crimson Dawn for more info, and to register in the forums!

BTW, I am the PR guy for the mod.

ok. Its not its own game. Its a mod, and always will be unless you get permission from EA to make it seperate, and that will never happen. Its a total conversion.

Actually it isnt :P. If you were to check out our site and forums you would actually see this. CD(Crimson Dawn) does not really on anything from ZH besides the SAGE Engine itself. We have many I ideas floating around, and we are always looking for new comments and ideas. So please come and check out our forums

So it's a brand new game. But you don't need to install it to play it. But I'm sure you need to have generals installed to play it. It's not a new game, its a total conversion. Even if you start from scratch and re-write new ini files, its still a total conversion.

If it requires Generals/Zero Hour...at most its a Total Conversion.

If its a standalone game, when it doesn't use Gen/ZH...its illegal, and I will pray for your soul since when EA gets word of what you're doing ...*shivvers in fear*

I doubt you are talking about the latter in this case though so, here are a few words of wisdom. I've seen your whole "its a whole new game" shit before, on another forum...and sure it sounds nice and can win over most people. The thing is, here we know better.

how did you get your hands on the sage engine? :/
Do you know how much it would cost to buy SAGE in stand-alone?

Quite a lot I'd say...More than quite a lot.

Using the SAGE without permission is certainly punishable by the law..

Good point Smurf. I doubt they are making a new game as its easily $300,000 even just start-up capital(buy engine....).

Yes if its a TC its not a new game. Imperial Assault has many times been thought of as a new game(by noobs) but we tell people otherwise they say "Oh Great!!!"

Sorry about the shameless self promotion example but unless you actually have SAGE and rights to use it, its only a TC.

lol, obtaining SAGE without contract is punishable by law !

You can obtain SAGE at a mild fee of $50K+15% profit royalites. I wouldn't be advising that sort of sum to any standalone team 0_o.

This is purely a mod. If it were anything else, I'd be worried about the shoddiness (efficiency wise) of the website

No nice inis in SAGE. The basic SAGE itself doesn't actually use any ini configuration files !
