The gaps aren't cause by the texture just the speed of weapon and effect.

I thought it was a datastream like lotus or the patriot assisted targeting weapon, where the texture gets tiled along the beam.If its not, you should try it

This a laser like effect, nothing gets tiled here. It is a particle that has a texture and has its volume set to line.
Also the datastream is a laser with an arc set.

Have you tried a Generic Laser Flare? Or set the bone back a little...

We aren't modifying any models nor using lasers. Lasers can't fire other weapons after they hit/die but projectiles can.

The generic laser flare isn't a laser its the bright flash the laser makes when it fires and the flash it makes hitting the target... so you can use it on your projectile

The laser flare may not stay long enough to hide gap.

You can remove the arc, Ive made lasers with it before, its not hard, hence why I suggest you try it if you have not already.

No, I thinks he's saying that he can't use an actual laser because it can't trigger other weapons etc. when it hits it's target. I have a solution, though. Instead of a laser you could try a Projectilestream. They seem almost the same as a laser except that you can include them with a projectile in weapon.ini, just like the Dragon Tank's weapon. Using this you won't need the particlesystem so the problem may be solved. I tested it and it has some problems with moving and shooting, but when the unit remains still it works quite well. I tested this on the Dragon tank's weapon and it worked fine, but there may be some issues with a weapon that fires 1 projectile because the dragon tank fires lots of projectiles.
