Default Realistic Firing?

If anyone here has played any of the SUDDEN STRIKE games, you'll know that tanks can miss their target when they fire and destroy something else around or near their intended target.

I would like to know if this is possible in Generals

ScatterRadius in the weapon may do what you want its just like ScatterRadiusVSInfantry but for everything. Set it to like a 10 radius and tanks should miss the target. Not sure but that should work.

Yeah you could also have it that elite units have their weapon upgraded to one with a smaller damage radius... more accurate

Yep, you can even get infantry to miss by giving their weapons small blast radii and higher scatter radii

Tanks miss VERY rarely. Modern Fire control systems have made tanks almost perfectly accurate. A Challenger 2 can hit a football 2km+ away on the move, and it doesn't even have the best fire control system. Also, Generals is in the future. Sudden Strike 2 on the Other hand takes place in WWII when tanks often missed.

True, but he never said he wasn't going to do a TC

Besides, it could add some cool tactical options. An upgrade to get rid of it, or something.

modern tanks are accurate, yes. but giveing it a scatter radius means that it no longer autohits a MOVEING target. you gotta hope that the explosion splashdamages the moveing target. y'know. like real. (though in real world, aiming and leading your target would apply, the game is too dumb ai wise for that. )

^True, even though SAGE pathfinding AI is quite advanced compared to other engines..I wonder how the pathfinding in BfME will be because I suppose that they will have to simulate that for certain units..
