Default Tanks vs Infantry

In reality tanks have HE, HE-Frag and other anti-infantry shells. In the game however all tanks have AP shells only and not even a machinegun.

But on the other hand giving such anti-infantry weapons to tanks will make them absolute. Or not? Maybe if infantry prices are reduced and the AP power of infantry weapons (RPG mostly) is boosted, a proper balance can be found?

Thoughts on this?

if u make the damage from infantry weapons like the rpg and rocket launcher, and make it longer ranged, it would balance it out i think

haha nah modern RPGs are pretty effective. Anti tank rockets are futher developed than the tanks countermeasures, although that may have changed 20 years into the future!

Historically, tanks' worst enemies in the open have been anti-tank guns and aircraft (and other tanks of course). If in streetfighting or forest or something, then infantry.

Nowadays infantry-carried RPGs are pretty effective, however all the most modern tanks are exceptionally well armoured against all but the most modern RPGs. So it's a tie, more or less (except that RPGs are much much less expensive )

Infantry isn't that strong against tanks in the open, but in built up or forested areas it has the upper hand. Too bad that can't be well modelled in Generals (and in nearly every other similar game I've played, except say Blitzkrieg or the serious tactical games like Close Combat or Steel Panthers.

to simulate damaged treads, one could use the battle bus system. still able to fire and stuff, but going nowhere.

that would unbalance the tanks then. instead of 1 tank, there would actually be 2.
