Default help guys?

i am new to making moddels for ZH but i herd a program called 3dstudio max, but i have Gmax i have read a few tutorials, so this summer i want to be able to dosomehtin towards makin a mod, ihad a whole year of doin some VB programing im not sure if that will help in anyway but i wnana go towards makin the modles part :P, any helpful advice guys?
(and to every1 who hats n00bs F U everyone was a newbie at some point!)

download the Gmax modelling tutorials and do all of them to start with. Very few people actually do this and it helps a ton. Once you've done that download the Renegade Public Tools. This will give you RenX which is a plugin to Gmax. It's geared towards editing Renegade and Generals. That's all you need to make models. To skin you'll need either Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop. dont worry about 3ds max dude. very few people use it to edit generals. best just to stick with gmax and renx like Kelso said. they have everything you need.
