Default Dh4RTS Model Prototypes - Warning, lots of images within!

Hey guys, here's a short list of model prototypes that we're working on for Dh4RTS. These will evnetually be hit up with more extensive details for ingame use, as well as a few vital modifications, but most importantly, what do people think?

Unnamed Human Cruiser





Unnamed Clone Corvette





Human Battleship
(Note that the turret has now been replaced with topside runways)





Human Chinese Corvette





Fighter Wing Model
(This model appears absolutely tiny ingame!)




Human Repair Pad
(Leviathan structure)



Human Stickleback Corvette
(Very Small Gunboat)




Unnamed Clone Battleship



That's about enough I reckons, now if only I had someone to skin the buggers, lol.

dude whats the poly count on those????? i mean yo game gonna go slow wid all dat! really cool looking stuff but the detail level looks on par with UT2K4

The largest model on display there hardly breaches the 1k poly boundary, and most are around 6-700 polys. When complete, some of our models may stretch as far as the 2k/3k poly boundary (but only for the one-off big mofos!). After these things are laden with weaponry + sensory equipment, hopefully they'll look much more the part.

Performance wise, despite our higher poly models, you won't find too much loss of performance, we're getting it all back through all the tricks of the trade. Dh4RTS doesn't use too much tris information, nor does it require uber amounts of alpha-mapping, and running on lower detail will cut out a lot of the particles that would otherwise grind you to a halt.

Dh4RTS will run on any machine that can run Generals *but*, for those that want to go much further, there'll be some graphics to challenge even the higher spec machines (evilness l33tness)

thers no way some of those models are under 1000 polygons. send one of them to me like the cruser. i have to see this for myself!!!

right heres a deal, i'll try texture some of them if those are indeed the poly count of what u say.

I belief they're under 1000 or around there. They don't look THAT detailed.

very interesting work, very nice, so is this for a mod or just for personal fun?

no there not to detailed it looks to me, and not UT2k4 detail either, UT2k4 is pretty high poly now.

ive done some models for ut2k4 and they do look geometry wise as and some even more detailed than some ut2k4 models. obviously ut2k4 uses 1024x1024 textures, 2 per person but this still looks very detailed to me. ambershee ive added u on msn ill talk to u there.

I've seen a few UT2K4 player models that are around 4000 polys and large vehicle models need to be even more. I've just played UT2K4 and I can see they aren't detailed enough for that game, but they are more than detailed enough for Generals.
