Do you have the animate button turned on? If it's on any vertices linked to the bone moves. If it's off then the model will kinda just rotate or do nothing.

yeah thats the one thanx trex. sorry i never answered been at a party all night. man im hung over. i think i destroyed a kidney as well?!?!

yeah once you've got the bones connected tot he vertices of the mesh you have to click on the animate button and then move the bones. sometimes on frame 1 the mesh still wont move but it should on all other frames.

its frame 0 they dont move, that is for keeping the base pose

yeah but u can manipulate things so that in frame 0 it does move. cos when im rigging i have it in the best pose for that. but i dont want it in that pose for even one frame after its rigged. how u getting on chrizz????

ppl i know animating but my problem is the verties are not linking to the bones :'( and when i aimate of move an bone the whole model will come up when i lift up an arm lol

um have you selected the vertices and connected them correctly. what u need to do is say say the vertices of the hand and then press link to bone and select the apropriate hand. just an example. but u need to do that with all the vertices. its exaclty the same as the 'skin' modifier but more basic.
