fritz man that turret is stupidly HUGE.lol i love it. yeah just brighten edges. but only edges you want to make look like seperate panels. i find it pretty hard to do actualy much easier when your using existing texture!!! but im better at organics so i stick to that and the moment.

In fact the turret size is quite realistic considering the tank has two cannons

And edge wear has nothing to do with whether you want separate panels or not, it should appear everywhere where there is an edge.

And don't think whether it's realistic or not, painting small-scale miniatures, such as the units in Generals, has its own rules. The best reference are the game maps themselves.

the highlights are on the model already, I turned their opacity down though cause it looked kinda ridiculous on the black background color i was using before. I'll see what it looks like, if i think it's an improvement i'll update the pic

- Edit -

Put the opacity on the highlights up, here's what it looks like now

sorry let me correct myself. seperate panales and edges you want to make look like edges. but im afraid the edge wear effect is exactly the same principles of seperate metal tiles in a texture so it does have to do with it. and many old designs for russiana nd german tanks with 2 barrels have much smaller turrets.

Looks pretty good with the edges highlighted. A tutorial on skinning that focuses more on getting a good looking texture would be nice, and I'm sure people would use it (Fritz).

I recall no old russian or german tank that has two main same-callibre cannons in a single turret. Also consider that back then the 75mm callibre was considered heavy. You realise how much space a 120mm gun takes?

yes i do.and i used to study structural enginering at edinburgh so i would know that its doesnt need as much as that. besides how do u know its accuractly 120mm???? sorry just messing there. look with most tanks the turrest size does not come from the size of the gun it comes from the size of bay where poeple are. and these days its big because most of it is computer equipment.unless of course u want to say they're hoarding mass amounts of ammo in there.
