Default Tank mechanical problem

I have 2 tank type units bothe of which are not operating correctly ingame, in both units the BARREL does not move with the TURRET, and in one the TURRETEL also does not move with the TURRET but does pitch up.

I used existing code to test these 2 units, and labeled each object according to the code I used. The code i used for one called the AKbar, was the USA's crusader code, and the other unit called the AL-Majnoon i used custom code from another team member.

Im hoping someone will no of common causes to this, but if necessary I will send a copy to someone who thinks they can help find, solve the problem.

Select all parts of your model and go to the hierarchy tab next to the hammer symbol on the right, click "Affect pivot only" and then "Align to world".

Next ye have to link things in RenX. Haven't got RenX installed so I can't make a screen but the linking symbol should be somewhere in the top left corner. This is the hierarchy for linking vehicles:

( -> means "links to")
WEAPONA01 (or equivalent weapon bones) -> BARREL
BARREL -> TURRET
TURRET -> CHASSIS


Hope you get what I mean.

go beyond this, i know about linking and hierarchy, this is somethin else.

double check your code...

if a barrel doesn't turn with turret it is a link problem...

if a turretel is not moving, it could be a coding flaw...

its neither code nor linkin, the code used is already tested and this not my first tank mod, so linking is not it. This has got to be somethin really unusuall.

did you try changing the angle of the turret in gmax? do the barrels follow?

Maybe it's the pivot points. Either that or you didn't export the transform on your control bones (ie. turret and turretEL)

nope, both transform and geometry have been exported, but I will ask are there any other boxes that should be checked for exporting tanks? so far i have had every objects exporting as Normal checked only.
