FinalBig. That's what I use. Basically make a new .big file, choose Edit->Add File and then make sure the path is the same as it would be if it were in Generals ie a skin needs to be added with the path Art\Textures\skin.dds You can change the path when the dialog appears and it will save with that path Here's an example.

I have a file in C:\Mod Stuff\Skins\skin.dds I do Edit->Add File and the Open dialog box appears. I browse to C:\Mod Stuff\Skins\ and open skin.dds I get the Add dialog box and I change C:\Mod Stuff\Skins\skin.dds to look like this Art\Textures\skin.dds. Place the .big file into My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data (or Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data) and then copy the game shortcut and change the command line to have -mod xx.big where xx is whatever you saved your .big file as. OR save the file as 00xx.big and put it in the Generals directory. The 00 will ensure that it gets read before the game files do.

If you put 00 in front of the big file it should work...

I prefer to edit and test everything as a text document... then after I'm done save it as a .big
