Phil Tippet did not animate it based of any kind of animal.None that he studied was appropriate.
I would link the section which shows the at-at taking the most steps in one go(3) but it is too large for me to upload.

Key0p your AT-AT was 1500 polys when i recieved it. Went up to 1600 because of the engine sump I added to make it look correct. I didn't skrink the guns, so that must have been Edan
