Default Naval Topic .... again. (Yet could be interesting)

OK I've decided to incorporate some naval in my units. Whlist I'll be giving the USA & China Amphibious transports that they can train out of their War Factories to transport large ground forces. I'll be giving the GLA a proper Naval ShipYard to build a variety of naval units. I know it may sound unbalanced but if you think about it. USA and China have Airfields & very competent air units. Even more so in my mod. I want to make some maps that have each team starting isolated on islands, so whilst this will suit China & USA, the GLA can do nothing except sit back, try to defend and wait patiently for the Sneak Attack.

So I'm ready to make a Naval Dock for the GLA but so far I've only found 2 ways to create it (On the water, NOT on land with the door facing water).

1. I can make a vehicle that can drive out to the water slowly, using the Object Upgrade button, transforming models slowly (anchors deploying) to form a floating platform.

2. I can make an Amphibious Dozer for the GLA which can spawn a Naval Dock near by (like the Crusader/BattleDrone upgrade only the Naval Dock will be seperate). And make the Upgrade cost about $2000 and take about 30 seconds to build.

So my question to everyone is .............. If you were playing a mod, which method would you think is better? both gameplay wise & graphically.

Unless anyone out there knows how a Dozer can actually build a Structure above water.

Yeah now that I think about it a little more, that sounds much better than option 2. Actually I managed to get it going with the Sneak Attack system as well. I'd just tell my dozer to spawn it over water which worked fine. After an upgrade and a Commandset Switch it works a treat. The only problem is that you can spawn it ANYWHERE you want which isn't fair. If only I could apply the range system from the SpecialAbilityUpdate module to that. Unfortunately the Sneak Attack uses the OCLSpecialAbility Module. Any comments on that idea anyone?

If you take off the geometry settings from your navalyard, and if the dozer that is supposed to build it has ONLY got the WATER surface type in its locomotor, you will be able to build that navalyard on water only.

When you say "take off" geometry settings, do you mean remove the entire lines or set everything to "0"?
