Default What programmes do I need to skin/model?...

What programmes do I need for it?

And, just so I do not participate in any illegal downloading, where should I NOT download any copies illegally WITHOUT a CD key.

Thanks, I follow the mod scene quite alot (too much, apparently, THANKS FOR THE BAN PHOIB ), but it's kind of annoying not to be able to help out or do anything in any other way than just making maps for my own use.

So its a noob question but one I would like answered please

I'm expecting photoshop or something to be it but I'm still vague about it all. I've looked at all the tutorials etc but sorry if this has been answered already (probably has).

You could use photoshop or maybe the Gimp if it has a dds plugin.

For modeling you use Gmax with the RenX gamepack.

I'd dig up the killasmods site because it has major kickass modeling tuts for Generals, but Revora is down...

Revora is back up again, it keeps going up and down like comical underpants.
Gmax is freeware and can be downloaded from discreet's website. you can get the RenX tools (also freeware) from Westwood's FTP:
ftp://ftp.westwood.com/pub/renegade/tools/
get the RenegadeToolsInstaller2.zip file. Also there is some of the renegade maps and models to use as examples (if modding Renegade, Generals wants lower polygon models )

Oh yea, and my site is here. Enjoy modelling.
