I always found that little point annoying... that it takes so many hits from a tank to kill infantry... In the real world... stand some poor shmuck out in a field and have a tank fire a high explosive round at him... what's gonna happen, you all know it... that guy's up s**ts creek, without a paddle, in a sinking canoe, in monsoon season...
In real life, the tank woudn'e even fire the HEAT round, it would use the coaxial machine gun, which would do the job much more efficiently.
Or perhaps the Generals tanks are firing SABOT? In which case, it would pretty much take a direct hit to kill a man on foot (although shrapnel would wound him).
The way Generals did it is mostly for balance reasons.
I've always hated how C&C sacrifices realism for balance so much. Obviously, you can't make it completely realistic, unless you want tanks shooting the length of the screen, but some of the stuff could easily be fixed (sizing for example)
if you hit a guy with any tank round he's dead... the problem is that it's not that easy to hit a person... unless he's standing straight up staring at the tank barrel...
oh, btw, thanx for the infantry scale number... works great
Careful about that scaler. GLA does weird stuff with infantry, and I'm still trying to figure out how to scale parts of the Amgry Mob (some of them give Serious Errors when you try to scale them).
