"we aim to make our mod the best and most realisitc ever... and two pages below you can see our rendition of the USA Partical Cannon we intend to use in the game"
No... thats not what I mean
I'm after a mod that has infantry in the correct scale (and not wearing jump-suits either)
Tanks that get blown up with one hit from an RPG launcher and can fire 2 miles in the distance
No "commandable buildings"
You don't build tanks... you get GIVEN THEM in the form of reinforcements... from TRAINS, not paradropping them
Carpet Bombers that drop thousdands of bombs... not like 20 or so "Big-Bertha" sized shells that only cause damage to 15 meters or so below them
Paratroopers that take the full 15 minutes to hit the ground
take a look at True War 2 at www.derelictstudios.net
Closest thing I know of to what you said above, but I doubt anyone would do that "Tanks blown up with 1 RPG shot" although that would be nice to see. Adds a lot more tactic to the game.
Call to Arms and An Act of War are more C&C-ish I believe. I don't know about Cold War Crisis though, but I believe True War 2 gets as true as it gets to real warfare.
No armour differnetiation (top, side, etc). No logistics (ammo and fuel). No proper line-of-sight. No proper speed adjustment according to terrain. No morale. No possibility for formations and even simple commands like hold fire. And so on and so forth.
Don't take me wrong. I like the C&C style games, I've played them since Dune 2. But it never was intended to be anything like realistic.
