Default Who's interested in a proper INI editor?

'Lo guys

My (legit, I assure you) copy of VisualStudio 2003 arrived yesterday (complete with 7 wall posters explaining why .Net is so cool... my ass, there isn't even enough room on my walls for 7 posters )

Anyway

I was wondering if anyone was interested in a notepad-type editor, but also has syntax highlighting and code-hints

It would take me a few months to write it, of course

But there's also the option of me writing a code-coloring profile for Dreamweaver MX (take me a few days tops)

Or a code-type profile for VisualStudio itself

If anyone has Dreamweaver MX and they're interested in an extension to add Generals INI support, post below and I'll consider it

I use Ultraedit with INI syntax highlighting, and it's perfect! The only thing I would like is the exact same thing that also highlights all the Generals-specific keywords such as Weapon blocks and module names.

I personally find that notepad is quite sufficient for everything that I do. I don't think you need to spend months developing something that can be done with a decent hex editor, or even just notepad.

On my old PC, I broke notepad somehow... LOL I was using WordPad to edit the INI's and found out the hard way that you cant use cntrl-G to find specific lines.
For example, the WB stated that I had an error on line 11, 275... but I couldn't find that. Thank god I bought a new pc now and I am using notepad again. whew.

Thanks for the tip on notepad. I'd never noticed it has a goto by line feature. I'll be using that in the future.

I use Dreamweaver for advanced text editing

Gotta love the block-level replace feature
