Default Adding a bone?

I have some models that have no firing position on them for a weapon and i was told i have to add a bone.

I don't know anything on how to do this.

Is there a tutorial on this or can someone post instructions on boneing [ boy that sounds nasty ]

Indeed it is not very difficult!

Just open a model that is boned (you'll probably need the w3d importer script!!) and check it!
U will notice that there are many sphere-like objects, which are called FIREFX.., MUZZLE..,WEAPONA.. or somewhat else.
This are the so called BONES, they represent coordinates for functions that are called in the related INI file.

U can easily create a BONE yourself:
1. Open the model that needs to be boned. Go to STANDARD PRIMITIVES, select SPHERE,change ELEMENTS to 4 and create your bone!

2. Name the Bone like it is called in the INI

3. Move the bone where it should be (in your case presumably the end of the Barrel)

4. Before u export the model as a W3D file, u'll have to to uncheck the option EXPORT GEOMETRY (otherwise the bones are visible in-game) in the W3DTools Menu (sorry I don't know how the flag is called)

I might sound complicated, but if u've done it once or twice, it will be easy!

In the tool bar just to the left there's a button called "select and link". Use that to link the bones to the turret. Then when the turret moves the bones move with it.
