Default C&C Gen Zero hour ini editing problems!!

Have recently started to edit Zero Hour , i allready edited ini files and other stuff from Generals and thought that ZH would be more of the same but i found out
that even if i changed the iniZH files (e.a. weapon.ini or factionunit.ini) it had no effect on the game or even a single unit. :/

Recently i even deleted the entire INIZH.big file (out of frustration) to see what the effect would be. Expecting a crash of the game i started ZH but to my supprise i found out that the game started normaly and everything just worked without that file

So can somebody please tell me what i am doing wrong and how to edit ZH???

erm ... its the same process, only some stuff is held in different ini files. You just put the ini files in the correct folder in ur ZH directory and it should work ...

Thanks for the quick reply.
The problem is that I know it should work like generals but it still wont work.
Normaly the rules for weapons (the simplest file to change) is data/INI/weapon and i placed the file correct i know that. Still no effect.
I already browsed through the other files, but found nothing that was relative to weapon changes (or at least what i thought was relative) so the question that comes to mind is where is it hidden and how come that when INIZH is removed all still works????

No I don't got a mod installed --> I just re-installed ZH a couple of hours ago to make sure everything was back to default. I only got generals (with the editing i did on it) and a ''blank'' version of ZH. Both are in seperate folders.

But It won't accept the changes I make and I am just doing the same as with Generals. I use XCC Mixer and Notepad, nothing more.
Can someone tell me where to look for the Correct Data/INI/Weapons file --> maybe i'm looking and altering the wrong file(s)??

I'm getting the feeling I'm doing something wrong wath should be very easy but I just dont know what.

I always start with something simple and work from that to the more "fun" things, so I altered the rate of fire for both the humvee and the ranger and switched from a generic tracer to a red tracer to see the effect better.
Plain and simple but it did not work for ZH. I started a campaign game, skirmish, challenge but the units still use their standard weapon with standard effects.

I just now reinstalled the game and tried a simple change --> i replaced the object used for the patriot missile (ProjectileObject = PatriotMissile) with that of the tomahawk (ProjectileObject = TomahawkMissile) in the INIZH->data/INI/Weapon.ini file => That should look diffferent!!!

But no effect!! The patriot battery still fires the normal missiles.
So now what? Could it be the Xcc mixer tool I use, does Zero Hour not work well with it or so? Ore am i looking in the wrong directory for the weapon.ini file?

But still there is not that much of a difference to Gen. and Zero Hour, or is there something i'm overlooking?

Well I use FinalBIG, but I don't think it should make a difference if it extracts the INI fine. Try changing another file, like FactionBuilding or something, see if it does that.
