Exactly, that's what I said. If you have a dummy shellmap it's still a shellmap. Which means that you get the increased loading time.

I think this effort is for nothing. If you really want music and a static background, I'm sure you can live with a tiny bit extra on your loading time, and just use Vanguard's method.
